The type of atheist that I am

Frequently I find myself adding modifiers to better describe the type of atheist that I am. The two that I use most often are ‘female’ and ‘active.’ Now I’ve gotten a lot of flack from people for using both of those (“well OBVIOUSLY you’re female” and “active? what does that even mean?!”), so here I am explaining why I say the things that I do.

Today I was looking into the possibility of getting in touch with local atheists/freethinkers at Fort Eustis in VA (and I know there are some), so I began browsing this website.
